Session Summary

Patience is a virtue, it is said, and the first night in Quesk proved virtuous indeed for the plucky band of heroes fine leader, Seek. Awaiting his night-time consort disguised as Xasthura, saving her the accusations of indecency and saving Ashikaga from the mistake of spurning his would-be lover, Seek gracefully redirected the flesh worker onto a safer path before taking a well deserved rest.

Come morning, Xasthura none the wiser to her near embarrassment, Ashi none the wiser to his near miss at true love, left one also none the wiser. Seek, haven't spent the night in Xasthura's room as intended, narrowly missed out on a blatant assassination attempt, the attacked being handily defeated by seek's best friend Guthred, who managed to remove a toe during the attack and procure a sign of ill intent - a blackened toe ring.

The beginning of the day would bring about nothing but more suprises. The brothers came to seek early, asking for his help in a delicate situation. Apparently, one of them had been given a strange artifact during their stay in Revan, and had asked a local mage to investigate it - they were unable to contact this man. Stopping them from their groveling, Seek agreed to give them the help they had been begging for, and went to the shop with them to make a practiced entry into the place.

Unfortunately a keen mind and deft fingers wouldn't be enough, as powerful magics had been erected upon the magic shop's interior door, and only some one of legendary caliber would ever be able to undo it. Thinking only of his beloved, Ashi thought the group should head towards the library where Xasthura, Clover, and Eliza had sequestered themselves for protection from the rough and tumble streets of Quesk.

Upon arriving, Seek sought out some fine literary tales, a journey which would bring him a scant aisle further away, hearing a chance encounter between Xasthura and Ashi. Bitter words were exchanged in hushed and furious tones, voices strained from the deep sexual tension hanging in the air. Unable to voice his true feelings, and unable to accept her own true feelings, Xasthura and Ashi parted from each others company to return to the group, neither willing to admit their budding relationship.

Unable to rally the spellcasting proficiency required to open the magic door, the group set about looking for an alternative way to gain entry. Luckily, through quick thinking and a silver tongue, a nearby shop keeper and long-time friend of the mage was coerced into helping open the interior door. Once inside, the story would take a turn towards tragedy.

Their trusted confidant lay dead in front of them, gnarled and withered hands locked in a firm grasp of the artifact, an arcane lock box. In shock at the death of their ally, Seek urged the brothers to retrieve the box and retreat from the store, but not before the local guard had unfortunately arrived. Seeing no clear way out of the situation save for explaining it to the guard captain, the group turned over the box and sent their best delegation to treatise with the captain and see their belongings returned.

The box, however, had different plans. Sensing the impending danger, Seek held the group back and rushed forward to save the guardsmen from their own doom. Seek arrived a half-step too late, casting the cursed box into a pocket dimension within his bag of holding, but not before it claimed the life of the guard holding it. The other guards, eternally grateful for their saved lives, bid the group keep the box and swore to secrecy what had happened.

Eager to inform his beloved of the days events, Ashi urged everyone back to the tavern to meet with the women of the group, telling them all that had happened. Realizing it may be prudent to lay out of Quesk for a bit, the group finalized their affairs and secured their wagon and supplies to head north-west, into the nearby peaks, to find whatever was abducting local livestock.
