Session Summary

Recap

Having finished their shopping escapade, the group returns to The Adopted Archives to retrieve their map, happening upon a hushed conversation between the proprieter and a few other Derhi. After an informative talk with Lorel, the group sets off south towards Forgewick.

Upon coming near the ruins of Foregwick, the group decides to begin circling the barren city to avoid any dangers within, finding a curiously well maintained bench and shrine on the outskirts of the town. Thinking it a conspicuous trap, the group continued on into the woods east of Forgewick with the hopes to circle around the town. Unfortunately the group gets lost for several hours, eventually having to make camp for the night rather than attempt to press on in fatigue, hoping that they are able to pick up the proper trail in the morning.

Zerrack heals us up in the aftermath of our fight with the Karumzek, then we head to the outskirts of town to bed down for the night, finding a structurally sound building to bed down in for the night. Massu offers to take the first watch, with Zerrack taking the second and Hacha the third.

Massu hears the clank and clatter of tools, catching sight of the Anugobu peering at them around the corners of buildings, keeping an eye on the group throughout the night with curiosity.

Zerrack Sees nothing, Hacha falls asleep, springing up in the morning to wake the others up. We pack up camp and head back out into town, looking for more Karumzek

Massu leads us into town, bringing us to a building with a shadowed form on it. We all attack immediately, though the form doesn't move. Hacha moves up to investigate and sees the thing is already dead. We discuss if there is another one of the creatures likely nearby, then Massu begins to look for tracks or other signs of where we can go.

Hacha and Massu take to the building roofs while zerrack goes down the center road. Massu sees tracks and gets Zerrack to snuff her light, activating her goggles and going hunting again. We follow the tracks to a courtyard looking area with several towers. Zerrack and Hacha head to the door of one of the towers, with Massu climbing it from the outside.

The tower door is broken. We see tattered banners and things, as well as tracks. Zerrack and Hacha begin to go up the staircase while massu stealthily scales the exterior.

Massu climbs without difficulty as there are plenty of handholds on the tower. Hacha finds a door at the top of the tower stairs, locking and unlocking it while he waits for Zerrack. The top of the tower and massu are on the other side of the door.

Hacha gets the zoomies and runs up and down the stairs as Zerrack and Massu descend. Hacha eventually stays up at the top, keeping an eye out for anything moving. Zerrack and Massu search the bottom floor of the tower. Eventually Hacha heads down to join the other two, opening a locked door for them.

Zerrack finds a cluster of arrows, 4 of which have some traces of magic on them. There are 3 sets of 2. One set is a pair that has a very large head with small holes in it. They wouldn't do much damage, but will make a lot of noise.

Zerrack and Hacha attempt to move a crumbling couch, with Hacha shoving it to the side. Zerrack sees a small wooden box, hacha opens it to find 2 beaded bracelets that give off bits of magic.

We search through the building, unlocking doors, coming across decrepit rotting furniture. Eventually we make our way to the next building, beginning to search it.

Massu climbs up onto the balcony, hears a sound, then climbs back down to warn us. Hacha picks the lock on the door, the group heading into the hallway.

Hacha begins unlocking doors, massu checking them for traps, she flags a trap on the 2nd door so Hacha leaves it to zerrack, as it appears to be a magic trap. Zerrack isn't able to disarm it so just opens the door and takes some electricity damage.

Inside the trapped room is a locked desk, which hacha opens. Inside is a small cloth bag, inside is a handful of uniform small smooth stones that are heavy for their size. There are 8 in the bag.

In one door, we find a sheathed dagger with a small black gem set in the handle. Another drawer has a small clockwork grappling gun. We also find 3 potions and a dagger with a black gem.

Desk searched, we move on to the next rooms, stumbling across the Armory room. The first floor is searched, so we move up to the second floor, with Hacha moving forward ahead of the others stealthily. Massu and Zerrack follow him up the stairs, Massu hearing the scraping sound again.

The scraping sound is coming from an adjacent building, so we hop out of the balcony and engage with the creature. We kick the crap out of it, then begin to ransack the buildings, finding a bunch of valuable things and some healing potions.
